Engraving of Elisabeth of Austria, Queen of France and Joanna of Austria, Princess of Portugal. The two sitters are each shown wearing a crown, closed ruff, and embroidered gowns with jewelled bodices, and pictured standing within an alcove between two pillars. With allegorical masks and Latin inscription on cartouches above and below.
From a series of large portraits engraved by Gaspare Osello, published as part of Francesco Terzio's Austriacae gentis imaginum. The publication of these volumes was thought to have begin in 1558, however they were probably published from 1568 onwards.
