Engraving of Louis Philippe Joseph II, Duke of Orleans and Louise Marie Adelaide de Bourbon, Duchess of Orleans with their children. A group portrait depicting the whole length figures of the Duke and Duchess with their two children Louis Philippe I, King of the French and Antoine d'Orleans, Duke of Montpensier. The Duchess is pictured seated on beside her two children, with Louis Philippe Joseph II pictured standing to the left holding a hat in right hand. With French inscription below. Plate from Charles Gavard's 'Galeries historiques de Versailles' published in the 1830s and 1840s. The plate is signed 'Diagraphe et Pantographe Gavard', indicating that the plate was created using an invention devised by Gavard which allowed him to create accurate copies of images in various scaled-down sizes.
