An etching with stipple technique of Maria Theresa of Austria, wife of Holy Roman Emperor Francis I. A half length portrait inclined right, wearing jewels in her hair, an embroidered and lace-trimmed dress and an ermine-lined mantle. The portrait sits within a foliate oval frame decorated with a plumed helmet, crucifix, baton, flags, crown, orb and Hungarian soldiers. The frame is surrounded by the Latin inscription 'MARIA THERESIA CrVCIfIXVs DVX MeVs REGINA Hung: et Boh.' Beneath the image is a further Latin inscription.
