Description

An etching with engraving of Maria of Austria, wife of Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian II. A head and shoulder length portrait inclined left, wearing an elaborate hairstyle decorated with a brooch, earrings, necklace, lace collar and dress. Beneath the portrait are the French inscriptions 'Tableau du temps' and 'Marie d'Austriche. Imperatrice d'Allemagne, Reine de hongre et de Boheme +1603.' The plate has been trimmed.
