Description

An etching of a medal bearing the portrait of Philippine Welser, wife of Ferdinand II, Archduke of Austria. A head and shoulder length portrait in profile, facing right, wearing a hat, headdress, fur-trimmed coat and brocade bodice. Surrounding her is the Latin inscription 'PHILIPPINAE. DIVAE.' German text on the verso suggests the print was cut from a book.
