The portrait sits within an oval border bearing the Latin inscription 'IOANNES AVSTRIACVS PRINCEPS FRANCAEVILLAE, GVBERNATOR GENERALIS IN BELGIO.' The print appears to be a copy after RCIN 612946, created by Dominicus Custos in 1602. German text on the verso suggests the print was cut from a book.
