-
Engraving of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. Full length equestrian portrait facing left, wearing armour, a sash and the badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece. He is depicted riding along the seashore, with ships in the background and an eagle, carrying a laurel crown, in the stormy sky. At the bottom of the plate is a French inscription, 'PORTRAIT DE CHARLES-QUINT'. The print is after a painting by Anthony van Dyck, itself after a painting by Titian.
