Sigismundus c.1804-1807
-
An etching of Sigismund, Holy Roman Emperor. A bust length portrait inclined left, wearing a crown and mantle fastened at the chest. A Latin inscription and title below the portrait reads 'SIGISMUNDUS.' An inscription in the upper right of the plate lists the object as being 'No. 189'. The print was originally part of Anton Ferdinand von Geissau's Geschichte der römischen Kaiser: mit ihren Bildnissen (1804-1807), which included a series of etched portraits of Roman Emperors by the printmaker Mark Quirin.
