  • Engraving of Harderich, early King of Saxony. Half length with helmet, armour, and mantle, holding a spear in right hand and a shield in left bearing the heraldic horse of Saxony. With German inscription on a scrolled banner below and the number '57' inscribed above. Cut down.

    This print is from a series of 56 portraits of the rulers of Saxony, Meissen, and Thuringia dating from 70 BC to the late seventeenth century, all taken from Sigmund von Birken's Chur- und Fürstlicher Sächsischer Helden-Saal (1677).
