An aquatint of Queen Victoria as queen. Whole length with hair in knot with crown, jewelled earrings and necklace, low gown, Garter collar with George, and mantle. Standing with right hand at side and left extended towards crown and sceptre to the right. Proof before inscription, without titles. With manuscript inscription below, declaring that this print is the 'first engraving executed by any native Australian'. The etcher, Henry Sadd, was actually born in London circa 1811 and by 1853 was living in Australia where he worked until his death in 1893. For another impression see RCIN 605689.
