Mezzotint of George III as king and Queen Charlotte as queen. Whole length portrait of the King and Queen with their six eldest children. George III, centre with tied wig, lace collar, and mantle with Garter star, stands beside the seated figure of Queen Charlotte with low gown, jewelled bodice and full skirt. The Queen holds the infant Princess Augusta Sophia, while her youngest daughter, Queen Charlotte of Württemberg stands at her side. To the left, William IV holds a parrot while is younger brother, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, plays with a dog. To the left of the King stand the two eldest princes, George IV and Prince Frederick, Duke of York. With the crown sceptre and orb, on a table to the right with drapery behind and with a view of a landscape and a statue of Hercules Wrestling With Achelous in the background. With English inscription below, including publisher's details, 'R Sayer excudit publish'd, Janry, 1st, 1771.' Borders trimmed. First state, for later states see RCIN 604686 and RCIN 604887.
