Stipple with etching of George III as king. Bust length with tied wig, plain tie, coat with Garter star, and sash over left shoulder. Medallion portrait within a border of laurels with crown above supported by putti. Below, the figure of Britannia kneels beside a lion, while to the right an assassin crouches in the shadows. Plate to commemorate George III's recovery following an assassination attempt by James Hadfield on 15th May 1800, at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Proof before full inscription. Includes publisher's address, 'London, Published as the Act directs Sept,, 24. 1800. by G. Riley 65, Old Bailey Ludgate Street'. For a later state see RCIN 604402.
