Description

Engraving of Frederick Prince of Wales as Prince of Wales. Whole length with wig, braided coat, mantle and Garter collar with George. Coronet on table to left. With English inscription and dedication below. First state, for second state see RCIN 604132. Borders trimmed. After an original painting by Jean-Baptiste van Loo who came to Britain in 1737-42. The original portrait, signed and dated 1742, can be found in the Royal Collection, RCIN 405312.
