-
Engraving of Henry Frederick, Prince of Wales. Whole length with closed ruff, armour, breeches, and sword on left hip. Standing holding a pike in hands, the point of which disappears beyond the edge of the page. With a plumed helmet on the floor to the left and with a scene of a joust in the background. With coat of arms supported by putti above and with Latin inscription below, including publisher's address, 'Are to be soulde by Compton Holland over against the Exchange at the signe of the Globe.' Cut down.
The publication date on the print is stated to be 1612, however this must refer to the original engraved by William Hole for Michael Drayton's Polyolbion (1612), as de Passe was not working in London until 1616. -
