Engraving of James I, as king. Whole length equestrian figure with lace collar, embroidered doublet, order on a ribbon around neck, and sash over right shoulder. With left hand holding the reins, and right holding a sceptre. With a view of London and Westminster in the background. With Latin inscription below. First state, before addition of coat of arms and before alteration of sitter. This portrait was later re-engraved and altered to Charles I, see RCIN 601849.
