Engraving with etching of James I as James VI, King of Scotland. Scene of James I at the tomb of his father, Henry Lord Darnley, accompanied by Matthew Stuart, 4th Earl of Lennox, Lady Margaret Douglas, and Charles Stuart, 14th Earl of Lennox. Whole length figure of James I as a child at the centre, with crown and ermine robes, pictured kneeling with hands clasped in prayer. To the right the figures of Lord and Lady Lennox, with their son, Charles Stuart, all kneeling beside the tomb and effigy of Henry, Lord Darnley. To the left, the figure of Christ with a scene of a military event below. Later state with Latin inscription below. For an earlier state see RCIN 601287.
