Etching of Eadgifu of Kent. Whole length with crown, veil, gown, and mantle edged in ermine, holding a sceptre in right hand. With a view of a coastal town and ships at sea in the background. With English inscription below. Eadgifu, or Ediva, of Kent was the third wife of Edward the Elder. This portrait by an unknown engraver was produced after a fifteenth century panel painting found in Canterbury Cathedral, where her remains are interred.
