A large Berlin porcelain vase with gilt bronze winged female handles and a socle foot; highly ornate border at rim with figurative cameo roundels; a continuous scene about the body of the frigate 'Royal Louise' on the Havel; buildings in reserves about the base.
Provenance
A present from Friedrich Wilhelm III in return for William IV's gift to him in 1832 of the model frigate 'Royal Louise', which was for the Pfaueninsel (Peacock Island) on the Havel; it reached London on 6 September 1836
