A Chinese white porcelain (blanc de Chine) wine ewer and lid. With a pear-shaped body and low, cupped mouth encompassing the lid, a high loop handle and tall, slender spout supported by a curving bridge; with a low foot and unglazed base. The flat-topped, infitting lid is moulded with a rosette with a flowerbud knob. In applied relief on either side is a large spray of prunus.
