A set of 23 Japanese porcelain plates. With flat rim. Painted in the centre with an irregularly shaped panel, with pairs of birds on pine and prunus branches above, and below, a rocky landscape, set in a ground of floral sprays in blue, with superimposed square and double-circular panels, depicting a landscape with buildings and chrysanthemums growing by a garden fence; and on the outside, sprays of peony, peach and chrysanthemum.

Several sets of Japanese blue, red and gold plates are recorded at Brighton Pavilion, however, these cannot be identified with certainty as their descriptions are basic (internal reference 1829B, pp. 139-142, 159).
