An octagonal Chinese porcelain basket, with pierced, spreading sides and low foot, the base partly glazed. On either side, joining foot and rim, are handles of inverted anchor shape in red and gold, imitating gold-spotted bronze. The pierced sides are painted inside and out in light green below a red-and-gold lozenge-pattern border. Inside is a garden scene with a rock by a fence, peony and camellia flowers.
