A set of four soft-paste porcelain shell-shaped fruit dishes, the interior bleu céleste with a circular white reserve painted with a floral spray, surrounded by a tooled gilt husk trail border; gilt husk trail about edge with four pendant husk wreaths centred by crossed laurel branches.
Provenance
Part of the Essex Service first recorded in the Royal Collection in the Confectionary at Carlton House in an inventory dated 1826 ‘No. 130. A Dessert Service of light blue and gold Seve Porcelain' noted as purchased from Lord Essex.
