A pair of soft-paste porcelain shaped-circular fruit dishes with lobed gilt rims, the interior bleu céleste with 4 white reserves painted with floral sprays, joined by tooled gilt husk trails with wreaths inbetween centred by crossed laurel branches; a circular tooled gilt husk trail at the centre is entwined by delicate gilt foliage.
Provenance
Part of the Essex Service first recorded in the Royal Collection in the Confectionary at Carlton House in an inventory dated 1826 ‘No. 130. A Dessert Service of light blue and gold Seve Porcelain' noted as purchased from Lord Essex.
