This miniature of the Honourable Flora Macdonald, Maid of Honour to Queen Victoria, is set in an oval gold ring. It is first listed in the Royal Collection in 1914, but may have been a gift many years earlier to Queen Victoria from the sitter.
The Honourable Flora Clementine Isabella Macdonald, fourth daughter of Reginald George Macdonald, 25th Chief of Clanranald, and Lady Caroline Anne Edgecumbe; Maid of Honour to Queen Victoria (1847–1874), Woman of the Bedchamber (1874–97) and Extra Woman of the Bedchamber (1897–1901).
