Pair of silver gilt urn-shaped jugs, the neck mounted with a cast figure of Pan, his head breaking through the entwined ribbon which forms the handle; the jug decorated with goats' masks, swags of fruiting vine, and gadrooning; on fluted stem and circular foot. Engraved with monograms and coats of arms.
Provenance
Given to Frederick, Duke of York and Frederica, Duchess of York by Queen Charlotte and the Princesses Augusta, Elizabeth, Mary and Sophia. One given by the Earl of Rosebery to George V and Queen Mary on their wedding anniversary, 6 July 1918. The other purchased by Queen Mary.
