A small, silver, ceremonial trowel; the rounded triangular blade engraved with a presentation inscription and pierced with drop decoration; the handle cast with a thread and shell pattern and engraved with crowned GR monogram.
Provenance
Used by George IV to lay the foundation stone of a gate at Windsor Castle and then presented to Jeffrey Wyatville, architect, August 12 1824.
