A large, oval, silver dish with three central roundels bearing a female bust, a cornucopia and a bunch of grapes, the whole heavily cast and chased in panels with rocaille work, scrolls, grapes, shells, flowers, cornucopiae and a pelican in her piety, with an irregular cast rim.
Traditionally associated with ewer (RCIN 46519).
Ewer struck on foot withcity mark of Freising and maker's mark, PW; basin struck on rim with city mark of Freising and maker's mark, PW, and with three erased marks.Provenance
First recorded in Royal Collection in 1914.
