A gold, silver and enamel model of the Albert Memorial, on a square plinth with gold railing.
Provenance
The model records the appearance of the Memorial after the installation of the statue of Prince Albert in 1876. It was presented to Queen Victoria as a Golden Jubilee gift in 1887 by Abu Bakar (1833-1895), the reforming ruler and first constitutional monarch of the Malay state of Johor. Queen Victoria displayed it at Osborne House. -
