An octagonal jasperware plaque in a cut steel setting with two pierced attachment panels on the long side, the setting enclosing a dark blue dip medallion with a white low relief scene of a woman crouching to offer a libation onto a flaming athenienne, a classical jug on the floor beside and a leafy bough beyond. The scene is currently unidentified.
Provenance
First recorded in the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle in an inventory of Wedgwood porcelain dated 1914 - 17.
