An oval jasperware plaque in blue dip fitted in a gilt metal bezel in an upright rectangular giltwood frame with bombe glazing and suspension ring, the plaque decorated with white low relief profile of William IV when Duke of Clarence facing left, in naval uniform with epaulette on left shoulder, his hair dressed in a looped up pony tail behind.
Provenance
The frame by J. Manley of Eton is from the early twentieth century. Not recorded in the inventory of Wedgwood porcelain dated 1914 - 17, which includes similarly framed works.
