An oval jasperware plaque of blue dip in gilt metal bezel and upright rectangular giltwood frame with suspension ring and bombe glazing, the plaque white white low relief decoration of the profile of Queen Charlotte, her hair dressed with pearls, and a pearl necklace, wearing a loose gown pinned on her left shoulder.
Provenance
The frame by J. Manley of Eton is from the early twentieth century. First recorded in the Royal Collectiona at Windsor Castle in an inventory of Wedgwood porcelain dated 1914 - 17.
Reilly and Savage, Wedgwood, the Portrait Medallions, noted as probably modelled as a pair to that of George III. The version illustrated in this book in the collection of Mrs Edward J. Warren. -
