An oval jasperware plaque in blue dip in gilt metal bezel and upright giltwood frame with suspension ring and bombe glazing, the plaque with white low relief decoration of Prince Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland, his hair curled and worn in a long ponytail, wearing a jacket with a high collar, the Star of the Order of the Garter visible on his chest and the riband across from his left shoulder.
Provenance
The frame by J. Manley of Eton is from the early twentieth century. First recorded in the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle in an inventory of Wedgwood porcelain dated 1914 - 17.
