Rectangular étui formed from Japanese lacquer panels on each side, mounted in gold, chased with guilloché bands at rim; the lacquer showing figures, birds and plants on an aventurine ground. Internal satin case containing two watercolour miniature portraits, ivory tablets, a pick and pencil.
A miniature of an officer wearing Hussar uniform is set inside this small etui. There is a miniature of a lady set on the reverse.
The ivory tab inside is inscribed with the dealer’s number: SR / WC / - B1614 45 guineas. -
