A classical scene of maidens walking in a line bearing flowers and libations to the statue of the goddess Pomona. Behind can be seen a river and a temple. Charlotte Henry Fitzgerald, Baroness De Ros (nee Boyle), was an accomplished artist. A number of her prints are in the collection of the British Museum.
Provenance
Purchased by Queen Mary in 1934 at the sale of the effects of Sir Augustus Fitz-George. Formerly the property of H.R.H. George, Duke of Cambridge; transferred from Lord Chamberlain's Department, October 1948
