Bronze medal, deigned by JS and AB Wyon, celebrating the recovery of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, from typhoid in 1872. The obverse depicts the allegorical figure of the City of London inviting Queen Victoria and the Prince of Wales to enter St Paul's Cathedral, while Britannia stands guard on the other side of the entrance. The reverse shows the congregation in the interior of the Cathedral at the crossing, with the lower stage of the dome visible.
