Black leather insignia case with tooled KCB Miltary initials and lined with cream velvet and white satin, containing neck badge with ribbon, star of the Order and two spare ribbons; badge centre has three gilt crowns arranged with a leaved rose and thistle issuing from a sceptre, all in silver gilt on a white enamelled ground, encircled by the motto of the Order, TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO, set in red enamel, the whole surrounded by a green enamelled laurel wreath tied with blue enamel ribbon bearing the motto ICH DIEN, with the device resting on a white enamel Maltese Cross edged in gilt and terminating in small gold balls with a gilt lion passant in full relief in each of the four angles; the upper arm of the badge cross is surmounted by a chased gilt acanthus leaf ornament with gilt suspension ring engraved with foliate decoration in relief attached to burgundy collar ribbon of silk; silver star in the form of a cross pattée centred with three crowns with red-enamel caps all in silver gilt on red enamel, encircled by the motto TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO on red enamel and surrounded by a laurel wreath in green and red with the motto ICH DIEN below in gold on blue enamel ribbon, with blank reverse and gilt-metal pin; order established by George I for the monarch, a prince of the blood royal, a great master and 35 knights companion as here
