A bronze statuette of Hercules. The nude and bearded figure strides forward with his legs apart, with his right arm above his head, which once held a club [now missing] and his left arm extended forward. On marble base. This bronze is a seventeenth century version of Giovanni Bologna's 'Hercules wielding the club' (now in the Museo Nazionale, Bargello, Florence), which according to scholars is the bronze mentioned in the 1584 inventory of the Grand Duke Ferdinando I de Medici.
