Order of the Bath G.C.B Badge. The centre has three gilt crowns with red enamelled cap, arranged with a leaved rose and thistle issuing from a sceptre, all in silver gilt on a white enamelled ground, encircled by the motto of the order 'TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO' set in red enamel. The whole surrounded by a green enamelled laurel wreath tied with blue enamel ribbon bearing the words 'ICH DIEN', set flush with the enamel. The device rests on a white enamel Maltese Cross edged in gilt and terminates in small gold balls. In each of the four angles there is a lion of gilt lion passant in full relief. The upper arm of the cross is surmounted by a chased gilt acanthus leaf ornament with suspension ring attached. The reverse is identical to the obverse.
Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught was appointed Great Master of the Order on 26th February, 1901, by his brother King Edward VII. -
