The foundation stone of Christ Church in Birmingham was laid on 22 July 1805 on the King's behalf by the Lord Chamberlain, the 3rd Earl of Dartmouth, in the presence of large crowds of spectators, many of whom wore Thomas Webb's medal suspended from ribbons. The King's gold example is in the British Museum, while the Queen's was sold in 1819 (Christie's, 24-26 May, second day, lot 32).
