Cigarette case of red gold, reeded sunburst design emanating from brilliant diamond set top left; thumb piece of cabochon sapphire.
This is believed to have been a favourite cigarette case of Tsar Nicholas II. It was made in the workshop of August Hollming (1854—1913) who specialised in gold objects and jewellery.
Mark of August Hollming; gold mark of 56 zolotniks (1896-1908); Fabergé in Cyrillic characters.
