A painted and gilded plaster model of a haveli, an Indian townhouse. The forecourt is painted to represent blue and white tiling, the front of the house is painted with murals of a procession and the interior is intricately painted with details of flooring, carpets and textiles.
Provenance
Presented to King Edward VII, when Prince of Wales, during his tour of India in 1875-76 by the Jaipur School of Art. The school has been established in 1866 by Ram Singh II, Maharaja of Jaipur.
