Princess Victoria Mary of Teck is depicted in this miniature wearing a high-necked white dress with a family order (concealed) on her right shoulder and a gold brooch at her neck. The image is based on a half-length photograph by Elliott & Fry of 55 Baker Street, London, dated 1887. Set in a gold bezel on a velvet mount, the reverse bears a label in Queen Mary's hand identifying the sitter as herself when Princess Victoria Mary of Teck.
