This miniature is by the same hand as another in the Royal Collection showing François duc de Guise (1854-72) (422113). It may therefore be a copy by William Watson after Sir William Ross. A miniature of this type, forming part of a bracelet set with miniatures of the grandchildren of Louis-Philippe, King of the French, and Queen Marie-Amélie, formerly in the collection of Henri, comte de Paris, was at Christie's, Paris, 14 October 2008 (lot 466), there identified as Princesse Marie-Christine d'Orléans, Infanta of Spain.
Princesse Marie-Christine d'Orléans, Infanta of Spain, third daughter of Antoine, duc de Montpensier, and Luisa Fernanda, daughter of Ferdinand VII of SpainProvenance
First recorded in the Royal Collection during the reign of George V
