William III and Mary II are portrayed in this bust-length double portrait, in separate ovals, side by side on a blue ground, separated by a crown upper centre. The miniature is set in the bezel of a mid-eighteenth-century ring on the back of which is engraved: Queen Ann, & Prince of Denmark. It is characteristic of the memorial jewellery which was frequently used by Stuart supporters as a mark of loyalty, and formed part of the collection of similar objects with Stuart associations formed by George V and Queen Mary.
