Description

Bust-length, wearing general officer's uniform with a black cocked hat and the star of the Order of the Garter.

Signed and dated in grey paint along left edge: Grimaldi 1804 and inscribed on the reverse of the backing card: His Majesty / George the third / Painted by Wm Grimaldi / Painter to their Royal Highnesses / the Duke & Duchess of York / No. 2 Albemarle Street / St. James's London / 1801.
