Gold and enamel bracelet clasp (hinged to convert to a pendant) containing a miniature of Princess Claudine of Teck, Countess of Hohenstein.The miniature is copied after the signed half-length miniature by Moritz Michael Daffinger showing the Countess standing in a landscape (present location unknown).
Claudine, Countess of Hohenstein, daughter of Laszlo, Count Rhédey de Kis-Rhéde, and Agnes, daughter of Gregor, Baron Inczédy de Nágy Várad, married in 1835, as his morganatic wife, Duke Alexander of Württemberg. She died aged twenty-nine when she was thrown from her horse at a military review. Their son, Francis, Duke of Teck, was the father of Queen Mary.
