MR (active 1770-80)
An Unknown Lady 1772-78
-
Much of the face, neck and arms of this portrait of an unknown lady has been repainted. She is holding a rose and sitting on a Chippendale chair, which suggest the painting is English, and the hair style and dress indicate a date of around the mid-1770s.
The monogram MR has not been identified.
