This oil miniature depicts an unknown lady, wearing a white dress, and with a spray of flowers dressing her hair. The sitter was recorded in the nineteenth century inventories in the Royal Collection as from the House of Denmark. One identification suggested for her is Frederica Amalia of Denmark, Duchess of Holstein-Gottorp, who married, in 1661, Duke Christian Albrecht of Holstein-Gottorp (see 420489).
