King George III is seen here wearing Windsor uniform (worn by male members of the royal family at Windsor Castle) and the ribbon and star of the Order of the Garter.
Henry D. Thielcke (active 1805-20) entered the Royal Academy Schools in 1806, aged 17, and won a silver medal. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the British Institution between 1805 and 1816 as a miniature painter and engraver.
