An over half-length portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing three quarters to the right with her head turned one quarter to the right; wearing the mantle, hat, collar and Great George of the Order of the Garter, and pearl earrings. Her Majesty holds a white handkerchief in her white-gloved right hand and stands in front of the Royal Standard, on the background to the right, and the naval White Ensign, on the left.
Sergey Prisekin was a Russian painter and teacher of art. He is known as a portraitist and for his paintings of battle scenes. He was born into a family of artists in Moscow in 1958. Between 1977-83 Prisekin studied at the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute and was subsequently admitted into the Russian Artists Union in 1983. His paintings have been exhibited all over the world during his lifetime and he has received several awards.
Many of his works draw from history, including portraits of historical figures such as Peter the Great and Catherine the Great, as well as panoramas of past battles. Between 1996-2000 he led a team of artists decorating the interior of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow.

She is standing in front of the flags of the Royal Standard, which hangs in the background on the right, and the naval White Ensign, on the left.Provenance
